Turning a Hotel Lake into a Guest Activity
Some hotels already have beautiful water views, but guests can only look at the lake from a room, walkway or restaurant. For family travelers, that is often not enough. They want something to do.
This case started from that simple need.
In 2026, a lakeside hotel project in Deqing, Huzhou, Zhejiang contacted QIQU for bumper boats. The hotel is Luoyang Peninsula Landison Manor, a lakeside property operated under the Landison Manor brand. Public hotel information describes the property as located on Luoyang Peninsula, close to Dongtiaoxi, with large surrounding water resources and lakeside scenery.
For this project, the bumper boats were not planned as a separate public amusement park ride. They were used as a complimentary activity for hotel guests. In other words, the boats helped turn an existing lake view into something guests could actually experience during their stay.
The Buyer Started with a Formal Quotation Process
The buyer first contacted QIQU on June 12, 2026. From the beginning, this was not a casual inquiry. The hotel sent tender documents and asked QIQU to provide configuration details, payment terms and a formal quotation. The buyer also contacted two other suppliers for comparison.
That process is common in hotel and resort procurement. A hotel project is not only comparing price. The buyer also needs to know whether the equipment looks suitable for the property, whether the supplier can explain the configuration clearly, and whether the product will be practical for daily guest use.
At first, the buyer considered fiberglass boats. QIQU recommended PE instead. The reason was not only durability. For a high-end hotel setting, the visual impression also matters. A ride placed in front of hotel guests should not look cheap, temporary or mismatched with the environment.
QIQU’s advice was direct: for this kind of hotel lake project, commercial PE bumper boats were a better fit than fiberglass boats.
Why the Water Cannon Mattered
One detail helped move the project forward: the boats could spray water.
For amusement parks, a water cannon may sound like a normal feature. For a hotel, it changes the guest experience. A family does not simply sit in a boat and move slowly around the lake. Children can aim, spray and interact with other boats. Parents can ride with them. The activity becomes playful without needing a large ride system.
This was important because the hotel’s guests included many families with children. The boat did not need to become the hotel’s main business. It needed to add one more reason for families to enjoy staying there.
Water Cleanliness and Quiet Operation Also Mattered
Because this was a hotel lake, the buyer also asked a practical question: would the bumper boats affect the water quality?
QIQU explained that the inflatable bumper ring uses Sijia PVC material, and selected Sijia PVC material has been tested by SGS under report No. XMNML1800375403. The report includes EN 71-3 migration of certain elements and phthalates testing. For a hotel project where guests, children and water are all part of the same environment, this kind of material documentation helped the buyer review the product more confidently.
We would still describe this carefully: the test report applies to the submitted Sijia PVC material sample, not to every possible site condition or local approval requirement. But for buyers preparing a lake, pool or resort water attraction, having material test documents available is much better than only relying on verbal promises.
Noise was another point QIQU discussed with the buyer. Electric bumper boats are much quieter than gasoline-powered water rides, which is important for a hotel setting. Guests near the lake should not be disturbed by engine noise. In daily operation, the main sound should come from families playing, children laughing and water splashing.
QIQU also suggested that the hotel arrange the bumper boat operating hours around guest rest time. For resort and hotel projects, the right equipment is only one part of the solution. The operating schedule should also respect the guest experience.
Practical Questions Before Ordering
After the first quotation discussion, the buyer continued asking practical questions.
On June 15, the buyer asked about the battery configuration and what cable size should be prepared for charging. QIQU replied that a 5-meter charging cable could be provided and suggested a minimum cable size of 2.5 square millimeters, with 4 square millimeters preferred.
The buyer also asked whether the batteries could be removed and charged separately. QIQU confirmed that this was possible, but also explained that charging directly through the aviation plug on the boat would be more convenient if the site allowed it.
To help the hotel prepare a centralized charging area, QIQU also made a charging reference drawing for the buyer’s electrician.
These details are not dramatic, but they are exactly what hotel buyers need before placing an order. A water attraction must fit the hotel’s daily operation, not only the lake.
Color Selection and Final Order

The buyer did not request a custom logo. Instead, the hotel wanted five different boat color combinations.
The final order included 5 QIQU commercial PE pirate bumper boats with matching canopy and inflatable bumper-ring color arrangements. The boats used the same core configuration as QIQU’s standard commercial PE bumper boat model, including the 24V 600W motor, water cannon, music and lighting features.
The hotel confirmed the order and paid on July 9, 2026. Because summer was the hotel’s busy season, the buyer asked whether QIQU could ship within one week. QIQU arranged urgent production and shipped the boats on July 15.
The boats arrived on the morning of July 16. By the afternoon, they had already been installed. The hotel’s internal staff tested and played with the boats first, both to become familiar with the ride and to prepare for guest operation.
A Small Fleet Was the Right Starting Point
Before placing the order, the buyer asked whether 5 boats would be too few for such a large water area.
QIQU suggested starting with 5 units.
That was a practical recommendation. For a hotel, especially one offering the ride as a guest activity, the first goal is not always maximum capacity. The hotel needs to test guest interest, staff workflow, charging, boarding, supervision and daily maintenance.
A smaller fleet can be easier to manage at the beginning. If the activity proves useful, the hotel can always expand later.
This is an important point for resort buyers. More equipment is not always the better first decision. The right starting quantity should match the water area, guest flow and operation plan.
The Boarding Area Made the Project More Practical
The hotel used a floating dock for boarding. This matters more than many buyers realize.
A bumper boat project needs more than water. Guests need a safe and convenient way to get on and off the boats. Staff need an area to manage boats, life jackets, charging and guest flow. If the boarding point is awkward, even good equipment becomes difficult to operate.
In this case, the hotel’s lake environment and dock setup made the bumper boats easier to use as a guest-facing activity.
The inner lake was relatively calm, with only light water movement. The outer lake area was much larger and more open. For daily hotel guests, the more controlled inner-lake area was the better operating environment.
What This Case Means for Resort and Hotel Buyers
For hotels and resorts, bumper boats do not have to be treated only as ticket-selling amusement equipment.
They can also work as a value-added guest activity. A hotel with a lake can use bumper boats to make the water area more active, especially for family travelers. The boats can support parent-child stays, holiday packages, weekend activities and resort photography.
That does not mean every hotel lake is suitable. The buyer still needs to confirm water depth, operating boundary, boarding method, charging area, supervision and local safety requirements.
But when the site is suitable, a small fleet of commercial PE bumper boats can make an existing lake feel more useful to guests.

QIQU’s Role in This Project
Follow-up WeChat record from the hotel project: QIQU reminded the buyer about life jackets, and the buyer confirmed guest use while giving a simple quality update.
QIQU supplied the commercial PE pirate bumper boats and provided product configuration, color matching, charging suggestions, production scheduling and shipment support.
The hotel provided the lake site, guest operation and on-site management.
This case is not presented as an official endorsement by the hotel group. It is a real project showing how commercial bumper boats can be used in a lakeside hotel environment. The value is practical: the boats helped convert a scenic water area into a family-friendly activity for hotel guests.
For hotel, resort and lakeside destination buyers, this is often the real question:
Do you want guests only to look at the water, or do you want them to remember doing something on it?
If you are planning a hotel lake, resort water area or family guest activity, send QIQU your water-area photos, approximate size, boarding method and expected guest use. We can help you choose a suitable bumper boat model, starting quantity, charging plan and operation layout for your site.
