A Natural Water Area Needed More Than One Type of Attraction
In 2025, a customer from Xifeng District, Qingyang, Gansu Province contacted QIQU for a new rural tourism water project.
The project was located around a natural water area near Ganquan Nanzhuang, Wenquan Town. The customer did not share the exact scenic area name, but the purpose was clear: they wanted to add water attractions to support local rural tourism and create new visitor experiences around an existing natural reservoir.
At first, the customer came for BBQ boats.
After further discussion, QIQU also recommended pirate-style PE bumper boats because they offer a different type of value: stronger interaction, faster ride turnover, and better appeal for families and children.
The final order included 9 commercial BBQ boats and 6 pirate-style PE bumper boats.
This made the project more balanced. The BBQ boats supported slow leisure dining and group experiences, while the bumper boats added active water play and visitor interaction.
Why the Customer Started With BBQ Boats
The customer first contacted QIQU on April 22, 2025, at 7:05 PM after finding us through Taobao.
Their first questions were about BBQ boats:
- how many people one boat could carry
- whether the boat was electric
- what the technical parameters were
- how the boat would be used on a natural water area
The customer was highly price-sensitive, so QIQU helped keep the configuration practical and avoided unnecessary customization.
They also said this type of water amusement equipment was still uncommon in their local market. From their point of view, adding these boats to a rural tourism project could create a new attraction and support local visitor traffic.
The BBQ Boat Configuration
The customer ordered 9 round commercial BBQ boats.
Product reference: Commercial BBQ Boats
The configuration followed the standard product direction:
| Item | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Quantity | 9 units |
| Diameter | 2.5m / approx. 8.2 ft |
| Capacity | 6-8 guests |
| Colors | 7 orange boats and 2 blue boats |
| Boat type | Round PE BBQ boat |
| Power | Electric propulsion system |
| Control | Steering wheel |
| Included setup | Table, sun umbrella, BBQ grill |
| Battery | Customer purchased locally |
| Logo | No custom logo |
The boat can seat 6-8 people, and 8 guests can sit comfortably under normal use.
Although QIQU can supply batteries, we recommended that the customer purchase batteries locally. Batteries are heavy, shipping requirements are more complicated, and local sourcing makes future inspection or replacement easier. If a battery problem happens later, the customer can contact a nearby battery dealer instead of shipping batteries back and forth.
Why QIQU Recommended Pirate Bumper Boats
During the discussion, our sales manager also recommended pirate-style PE bumper boats.
The reason was practical. BBQ boats create a slow, social, relaxing experience. Bumper boats create a completely different attraction: short ride cycles, stronger interaction, and more fun for families and children.
The customer accepted the recommendation and added 6 pirate-style bumper boats to the order.
Product reference: Commercial PE Bumper Boats
The final bumper boat configuration included:
| Item | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Quantity | 6 units |
| Boat type | Pirate-style commercial PE bumper boat |
| Diameter | 2.1m / approx. 6.9 ft |
| Color | Standard blue |
| Bumper tube | Blue bumper tube |
| Water cannon | Included |
| Power system | Standard electric motor configuration |
| Battery | Customer purchased locally |
| Logo | No custom logo |
The customer asked whether the water cannon uses water from the same water area. We explained that the system is self-priming and draws water from the current operating water area.
This is useful for natural reservoirs and lake attractions because the boat does not need a separate water tank for the water cannon function.
Two Products, Two Different Visitor Experiences
This case is useful because it shows why a water project should not always rely on one single product.
The two products serve different visitor needs:
| Product | Main Experience | Suitable Visitors |
|---|---|---|
| BBQ boat | Leisure dining, group relaxation, slow water experience | Families, friends, group visitors, resort guests |
| Pirate bumper boat | Interactive play, water cannon battle, short ride cycle | Children, parent-child visitors, young tourists |
For rural tourism projects, this combination can be more attractive than only one type of boat.
Some visitors want to relax, eat, take photos, and stay longer. Others want a quick, fun, interactive ride. A mixed water attraction plan can serve both groups.
Safety and Water Area Planning
QIQU reminded the customer that BBQ boats and bumper boats should not operate freely in the same area without management.
The reason is simple: their operating behavior is different.
BBQ boats are leisure boats. They move more slowly and carry groups of visitors around a table and grill.
Bumper boats are interactive ride boats. Visitors may turn, spray water, and move more actively.
For safety and easier staff management, the two areas should be separated or clearly controlled. A natural water area can support both products, but it should be calm, open, and free from sharp underwater obstacles, strong wind, or strong current.
QIQU also supplied safety accessories:
- Each BBQ boat was supplied with 8 life jackets and 4 lifebuoys.
- Each bumper boat was supplied with 1 life jacket and 1 lifebuoy.
For any commercial water attraction, life jackets, staff supervision, clear boarding points, and basic water-area separation should be planned before operation.
Fast Production and Split Delivery Before the Holiday

The customer paid the deposit on April 25, 2025.
Because the May Day holiday was close, QIQU arranged the shipment in two batches.
The 6 pirate bumper boats were shipped first on the night of April 28 using a 6.8m truck, about 22.3 ft long. They arrived at the customer’s site on the evening of April 30.
The 9 BBQ boats were shipped on May 1 using a 9.6m truck, about 31.5 ft long. Because of May Day holiday road congestion, the BBQ boats arrived on the morning of May 4.
The customer started installing both the bumper boats and BBQ boats together on May 5.
This split-delivery arrangement helped the customer receive the more compact bumper boats first while the larger BBQ boats followed in a separate truck.
Packing and Delivery Details
For domestic delivery, QIQU used practical protective packing based on the product type.
The pirate bumper boats used two layers of steel-frame packing plus carpet wrapping. This helped protect the boat body and bumper tubes during truck transportation.
The BBQ boats were wrapped with carpet protection for the domestic truck shipment.
Because these were domestic deliveries, the packing method was different from overseas container export packing. For international shipments, packing method, container loading, battery shipping rules, and destination handling should be confirmed separately.
Installation Support and a Small Repair Case

The customer did not request many documents, but QIQU provided video guidance for installation.
During unpacking, one bumper tube was accidentally punctured because the customer used scissors to open the package. QIQU had already reminded the customer to be careful when opening the package, but the accident still happened.
After that, we guided the customer on how to repair the puncture using repair material.
This is also a useful reminder for buyers: when unpacking inflatable bumper tubes or other soft boat accessories, do not cut deeply with scissors or knives. Open the outer packaging carefully and avoid sharp tools near the bumper tube.
What Rural Tourism Operators Can Learn From This Case
This project shows a practical water attraction strategy for rural tourism operators, farm resorts, lakeside parks, and small scenic areas.
If a site has a calm natural water area, it may not be necessary to start with only one product. A combination of leisure boats and interactive boats can create a richer visitor experience.
Before buying, operators should confirm:
- water area size
- water depth and underwater obstacles
- wind and current conditions
- whether boats need separate operating zones
- target visitors
- staff management method
- boarding and docking plan
- battery sourcing and charging plan
- life jacket and lifebuoy preparation
- whether the project needs food service, leisure rides, or interactive rides
A good product mix can help a rural tourism site serve more types of visitors, especially when the goal is to create a new water attraction from an existing natural reservoir.
If you are planning a rural tourism water project, scenic lake attraction, farm resort, campsite, or natural reservoir amusement project, QIQU can help you choose a suitable product mix.
You can combine leisure products such as Commercial BBQ Boats with interactive rides such as Commercial PE Bumper Boats to serve different visitor groups.
Send us your water area size, target visitors, expected operating season, product quantity, and whether you want leisure dining boats, bumper boats, or a mixed water attraction plan.
Frequently Asked Questions

- BBQ boats and bumper boats create different types of visitor experiences. BBQ boats are suitable for slow leisure, dining, group gatherings, and longer stays. Bumper boats are more interactive and suitable for parent-child play, short ride cycles, and water cannon fun. Combining both can make a natural water area more attractive to different visitor groups.
- They can be used in the same overall project, but QIQU recommends separating the operating zones. BBQ boats move slowly and carry groups around a table and grill, while bumper boats are more active and interactive. Clear separation helps reduce collision risk and makes staff management easier.
- Yes, if the water area is calm, large enough, and free from sharp obstacles, strong currents, or unsafe shoreline conditions. Operators should also plan boarding points, staff supervision, emergency equipment, and weather-related operating rules.
- No. The pirate-style bumper boat water cannon is self-priming and draws water from the current operating water area. This is useful for lakes, reservoirs, and scenic water projects.
- For domestic customers, local battery purchase can reduce shipping cost and make after-sales service easier. If a battery needs inspection or replacement, the customer can contact a local battery dealer instead of shipping the battery back to the boat manufacturer.
- Operators should confirm the water area size, target visitors, operating season, staff plan, boarding method, safety equipment, power and charging plan, product mix, and whether different boat types need separate zones. These details affect both visitor experience and daily management.
- Do not use scissors or knives too close to inflatable bumper tubes or soft accessories. Open the package carefully and avoid cutting deeply. If a small puncture happens, repair material can usually be used, but careful unpacking prevents avoidable damage.
